Lorna Jean Feltz, 93

Lorna Jean Feltz, 93, of Cedar Falls, Iowa and formerly of Waverly, passed away Wednesday night, August 6, 2025, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls.
Lorna was born on July 15, 1932, in Mason City, Iowa, the only child of Theodore and Evelyn (Briel) Sears. She graduated from Charles City High School. On June 26, 1953, Lorna was united in marriage to Darrell C. Dugan in Charles City. The couple made their home in Charles City and moved to Waverly in April 1955. Lorna worked as a secretary at St. Mary Catholic Church for 7 years and 25 years at Waverly-Shell Rock High School. She retired in 1997. After 51 years of marriage, Darrell passed away in September of 2005. On May 14, 2011, Lorna married Duane R. Feltz in Waverly.
Lorna was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. She had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir as well as the Shell Rock Swing Show. She was also a member of the ladies’ auxiliary. Lorna was a very giving person and loved to volunteer. Not only did she give her time but also donated many units of blood over the years. After retirement, she walked a couple miles every day for over 20 years with her “girls.” Lorna also loved to read.
Lorna is survived by her husband, Duane; three children, Kathryn (Garry) Busching of Waverly, Claudia (Randy) Quiggle of Apple Valley, Minnesota and Gary Dugan (Linda Yoregason) of Blaine, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Erin (Danny) Toler, Emily Bryan (Joe Lau), Matt (Brianna) Bryan, Kelly & Lauren Quiggle, Christopher & Candace Dugan; 5 great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Abby, Ethan, Hudson and Jett; two step-sons, Denny (Sharon) Feltz of Cedar Falls and Doug Feltz of Allison; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Darrell, her parents, brother-in-law, William Dugan and sister-in-law, Dolores Anderson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly, with Deacon, Phil Paladino officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
