GREENE – Trace Engel has wrestled in the Doug Trees Invite before.
He just wasn’t part of the host school.
The senior 220-pounder who was a part of Clarksville his first three seasons, nabbed the title last Saturday as part of North Butler-Clarksville with a big pin of Lake Mills’ Max Johnson in 3 minutes, 46 seconds to help lead the Bearcats to a third-place finish (128.5 points) in the stacked 11-team field.
“I guess the feeling is similar,” Engel said. “There are not a lot of issues going into it. A lot of these guys I already knew from going against them. It’s just having a bigger team.."
