Indians forced to forfeit vs. N. Tama

CLARKSVILLE – The new Iowa High School pitching rules came to bite Clarksville in what should have been a victory for the Indians baseball team.
Officially, Clarksville defeated North Tama on Friday, June 2 by a 7-5 score, but since coach Zach Bergman used Caden Hobson for too many pitches in consecutive days, it forced his team to forfeit.
Bergman said he self-reported the infraction of the new rule on Monday, which he didn’t know at first.
“I would say that I do agree with the pitching rules as a whole,” Bergman said. “I think there are parts that the state needs to re-visit at the season’s end..."
