Clarksville School Board plans closed meetings in principal search
The Clarksville School Board will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23 and the same time on Thursday, Feb. 26. Each agenda calls for a closed session to consider the elementary principal search process.
Dr. Dean Meier is acting as a facilitator in the search.
Clarksville is searching for a full-time elementary principal and curriculum director with some at-risk coordination responsibilities.
At both elementary principal search meetings, the sessions will be closed under Iowa Code 21.5(1)(i).
This exception to the open meetings law allows a closed session “to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, [or] performance … is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation, and that individual requests a closed session.”
If any votes are taken at a closed session, they must be individually recorded and become public record when the session reopens, Iowa open meetings law states.
