While many areas are seeking to draw in employers, what Butler County and the surrounding Cedar Valley area needs is people. Employers who would like to expand are putting plans to do so in the area on hold due to the workforce shortage.
This week, the Cedar Valley Regional Partnership is kicking off the Live the Valley initiative, an all-out campaign to showcase the rich culture and competitive career opportunities in the area and attract the top-quality talent needed in the workforce.
“The Cedar Valley is bursting with opportunities for young folks looking for a career and families looking for a community-centered place to raise their kids, while also maximizing their own career potential,” said Jeff Kolb of Butler-Grundy Development Alliance. “This region has so much to offer, and we need to share our story in a new way to reach the younger audience.”
A new website, www.livethevalley.com, features a user-friendly job board intended to serve as a clearinghouse for employers to post positions and for job seekers to find the perfect opportunities.
