Wilder Days plans announced

The schedule for Wilder Days June 1 and 2 has been announced. Celebrations will kick off Friday, June 1 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  with a Commercial Club freewill donation meal, the Balloon Man, face painting, kids craft, snow cones, walking tacos and brats, an ice cream truck, and Jumping Jims Bouncy Houses at Wilder Park. There will be a dodgeball tournament at 5 p.m. Miss Allison and little Mr. and Miss Allison will be announced at 6 p.m. Dueling Pianos will provide entertainment from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., with fireworks to follow at 10 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs.
     Saturday morning there will be a 5K Run at Wilder Park. Sign-up starts at 7:30 a.m., and the race begins at 8 a.m. From 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. the Lions Club will serve an omelet breakfast. Garage sales will begin at 8 a.m. and festivities will move from Wilder Park to Main Street. Registration for the car, motorcycle and tractor show starts at 9 a.m., and the show runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  on South Main, with awards distributed at 2 p.m.
     St. James Lutheran Church will serve a BBQ Beef sandwich meal from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pie will be served by the Allison Garden Club. There will also be food vendors on Main Street. A three on three street basketball tournament will be from noon to 2:30 p.m.
     The parade at 3 p.m. will be themed for “Our Town America, Red, White and Blue.” Grand Marshalls are Jack and Carolyn Cooper. Festivities will conclude with the Bar Flies Band in concert from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Arch Allies in concert on Main Street from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Both concerts are free.
