West Fork defense stymies North Butler challenge

SHEFFIELD – Standing in the way of North Butler’s thoughts of an upset against Class 1A No. 5 West Fork was the defensive abilities of the Warhawks.
Namely, the eight blocked shots that effectively turned away the Bearcats in this 66-40 Top of Iowa East Conference victory for coach Frank Schnoes’ team.
“I think both teams played pretty hard,” Schnoes said. “Sometimes got a little out of control, but a real good effort on both teams. We hit the boards pretty hard, I thought, and I thought we could have pushed the ball up the floor a little more than we did, but we did a nice job of taking care of the basketball.”
