CLARKSVILLE — The city is considering raising the water deposit for new customers, and formally adopted a policy that delinquent water accounts that are shut off will be restored within 24 hours.
The council is also hoping a solution has been found to a decades old sewer problem, Councilman Jeff Kolb said.
City Clerk Larry Betts proposed raising the water deposit from $150 to $200 and said he would talk more about it at April's council meetings, which fall the first and third Mondays. He said the average bill is $150-180 for three months.
