Clarksville has a new police chief.
The City Council Public Safety committee recommended hiring Steve Warner, Huxley Police Department, for the job, and City Council approved the decision effective Dec. 1.
The interview committee, which consisted of two members of the City Council, a representative from the Community School, and a representative from the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, interviewed four candidates for the position.
At the end of the day, the interview committee felt Warner was the man to fill the chief’s shoes, Councilman Jeff Kolb said at the Monday, Nov. 16 council meeting.
