Two county races contested in primary June 7

Voters will visit the polls June 7 (or vote by mail) to choose county and federal primary contestants, Republicans will see a contested primary ballot at the Butler County level on June 7.
COUNTY-LEVEL candidates elected in November will serve four-year terms.
County Supervisor Rex Ackerman of rural Clarksville will face challenger Greg Barnett of rural Plainfi eld in the Supervisor District 1 Republican primary June 7.
County Auditor Lizbeth Williams of Greene will face challenger Jenee Simon of rural Parkersburg in the Republican primary.
Sheriff Jason S. Johnson of Parkersburg, a Republican, is uncontested in the party’s primary.
FEDERAL races are afoot, as widely reported.
Four Democrats, alphabetically Thomas L. Fiegen of Clarence, Robert M. Hogg of Cedar Rapids, Patty Judge of Albia and Bob Krause of Fairfi eld will vie for their party’s primary vote in order to challenge longtime U.S. Sen. Charles E. Grassley, a Republican, in November. Sen. Grassley is unchallenged in his own party’s primary ballot June 7.
