Trees Forever members plant trees

    Allison and Greene Trees Forever members have been hard at work this past week sharing the joy of planting trees with North Butler students in observance of Arbor Day.
    On Wednesday, April 24, 38 seventh graders and three educators from North Butler visited the Wilder Park Lodge to receive educational information on the trees, prairies and ponds and plant 60 trees at Wilder Park.
    On Friday, over 300 North Butler Elementary students received double-saplings purchased by Greene Trees Forever and presented and distributed by both Allison and Greene Trees Forever members.
    At the Wilder Park Lodge Wednesday, Dr. George North of Allison Trees Forever gave a demonstration on the proper procedure for planting bare root trees and spoke about the three ecosystems in the park: prairies, forest and wetlands.
