Top-ranked Kee gets by No. 2 Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE – A playoff atmosphere greeted everyone who attended the then-No. 1 vs. No. 2 billing at Clarksville on Friday, June 8.
And the game lived up to its billing with Kee getting a pair of unearned insurance runs in the top of the seventh and fended off the Indians’ rally in the bottom of the inning to leave town with a 3-1 win.
The game, a rematch of the Class 1A state championship game, featured a lead-off home run, an unconventional double play, 18 combined strikeouts between both ace pitchers and a pick-off at first base that ended it.
It also was a late addition to the Indians’ schedule.
“We already had our schedule made and they asked if we wanted to play so of course we wanted to play them,” Clarksville coach Katie Wedeking said...
