CLARKSVILLE – For quite some time, both CAL and Clarksville’s boys basketball team had to be wondering if there really was a lid on the basket.

Clarksville went scoreless for nearly 16 minutes, not converting at all in the second quarter, as the Cadets opened with a 49-20 road win on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

“We played a pretty good team (Rockford) Monday night and we played really well,” Clarksville coach Ethan Lensch said. “We came in against a team I thought we could contend with and get a win, down four and then at the end of the second quarter we still have seven on the board. We couldn’t find those good shots and especially on nights like this where you think you can grab one, it’s too bad it happened tonight.”

More on this story will be found in the Dec. 11 print edition of the Clarksville Star.
