Tax fairness in Iowa examined at talk

  As a general rule, the more an Iowan makes, the smaller the percentage he or she pays in taxes.
  On the other end of the spectrum, a policy lawmakers brought about to help startups has become one of the most lucrative tax credits for big business in Iowa.
  Mike Owen, executive director of the nonprofit, nonpartisan Iowa Policy Project and former owner of the West Branch Times, shared this information when he spoke at meeting in Shell Rock on Sept. 23.
