Mennenga says this was the largest machinery consignment he’s ever had
“The social event of the year,” is what Laura Severs calls the Mennenga Consignment Auction.
This year, Bud Mennenga estimated 1000 people attended the event, hailing from Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and “almost every town in Iowa.” The day of the sale, April 8, had beautiful weather and 800 bidding numbers were distributed.
Bud Mennenga said this year the sale had its largest machinery consignment in its 41 years.
At his first auction on the location, he had four people working with him. This yearthere were 30 workers. Eight auctioneers worked from four trucks, switching off as they worked through the merchandise.
