Volunteer Park and the Clarksville splash pad have a new splash of color this week, as a barn quilt was installed by city maintenance men on the shelter house Thursday.
The barn quilt, painted by Cindy Wedeking, was created with the pattern Water Wheel in light and dark blue. It measures eight feet by eight feet, the official size, to ensure it is included on the Butler County Barn Quilt map.
“I wanted it to sort of match the splash pad, so we went with the dark blue and the light blue,” Wedeking said.
Cindy Wedeking donated her time to create the barn quilt, spending about four hours drawing, priming and painting it.
