Jean, Viola and Winnie Cain are celebrating 270 years of living at an open house at the Shell Rock Emergency Services on March 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. They’re inviting the community to join them in celebrating their 90th birthdays—and their love for three brothers that brought them together as family.

George and Margaret Cain had nine children: six boys and three girls. Jean, Viola and Winnie married brothers Robert, Dale and Charles Cain.

“One thing about the Cain clan, they all enjoyed each other,” said Viola. “The boys got along really well.”

Dale and Viola

Viola, a Shell Rock farm girl, met Dale Cain in high school when she was a freshman and he a senior.
