Laurie Shultz and Amanda Hewitt were voted to serve on the North Butler School Board in the September 12 school election. They replace Laura Staudt and Kristy Lammers, who chose not to seek re-election after serving their four-year terms.
Shultz, of Greene, ran unopposed in North Butler School District 1, and garnered 298 votes out of a total 310. The remaining 12 votes were cast for write-ins.
In District 2, 180 votes were tallied for Hewitt, who launched a campaign the week before the election as a write-in candidate. Jon Heuer, also a write-in candidate, received 105 votes. There were nine votes for other write-in candidates.

Amanda Hewitt’s goal is for North Butler students to receive the best education and learning opportunities possible. One of those students is her own daughter—a third grader at North Butler elementary, so every decision Hewitt makes will affect her family on a personal level.
