PARKERSBURG – Having an off-night from the field came at the worst possible time for the No. 7 North Butler girls basketball team.

The Bearcats were 2-of-15 from beyond the 3-point line in the first half in falling behind fourth-ranked Hudson 25-11 en route to a 45-32 ouster in the Class 2A regional final on Monday, Feb. 17.

“We have five seniors and it’s a tough way for them to end,” North Butler coach Jeff Lindell said, “playing like that in the first half. I feel bad for them. They had good looks…I don’t know what we shot. I thought that if we could have held them to 40 points before we started fouling, we’d be in pretty good shape.

“We struggled on the offensive end and besides (Marisa) Speedy, no one could put the ball in the hole. Some nights are that way.”
