The Diving for Dollars Committee held two recent events for its campaign for a new aquatic facility in Shell Rock.
On Tuesday, November 27, the group held a community meeting to talk about the project and allow community members to ask questions. The meeting began with a panel discussion, highlighting the problems with the current pool, explaining the features of the proposed facility, and giving an overview of the fundraising progress so far.
Several interested community members were in attendance and asked a variety of questions. “We were so pleased with the thoughtful and important questions that were asked at the meeting,” says Casey Reints, Co-Chair of the Diving for Dollars Committee. “We want people to know exactly what they’re getting and to let us know any feedback they have on the design.”
Discussion topics ranged from the filtration system, to parking lot plans, to funding questions. “We want to make sure we can answer as many questions as possible right now, so that when it comes time for the vote, people are happy with the plans. There are still some details to be worked out, but we appreciated the feedback and support of those in attendance,” says Reints.
