Second semester brings changes

The second semester of the school year begins in Clarksville.

At the schoolboard meeting Monday, there was a new face: Superintendent Joel Foster. Foster, who also serves as superintendent for North Butler, replaces retiring superintendent Randy Strabala.

Discuss at the meeting included approving a metal recycling fundraising project for the Booster Club, adjusting the daily schedule, improving safety and advancing technology.

Students and teachers have a major change coming to their schedules starting January 16 with the second semester. Tribe time, an intervention period where students can do homework and get extra help from teachers, will be moved to the end of the school day.

“Tribe time will be moved to the end of the day at the unanimous request of teachers,” said Eckerman.
