Rice awarded as Outstanding Cattleman at banquet

  Heeren named for Service Award
  One hundred ninety-five attendees packed the Veterans Memorial Building in Parkersburg Saturday, Jan. 16 for the 2016 Butler County Cattlemen’s Annual Banquet.
  Kyle Rice was awarded Outstanding Cattleman, and John Heeren was named for the Cattlemen’s Service Award. Derek Harken was recognized for having had the Grand Champion Butler County Raised Beef and Brett Steere the Reserve Butler County Raised Beef at the 2015 Butler County Fair.
  A brief biography of Outstanding Cattleman Rice was read by Jeff Lindell. Rice grew up with livestock, graduated from Ainsworth High School, majored in animal science and agri-business at college and was instrumental in getting the Northwest Missouri State University cattle show up and running.
