Remembering Pearl Harbor

A Pearl Harbor Day Service was held on Sunday, Dec. 9 at the Clarksville AMVETS hall to commemorate the 77th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
     The service began with the pledge of allegiance, and Chaplain Charles Underwood led in prayer.
      “Lord, be with our nation and our leaders, that we may never again be attacked in such a manner…” Underwood prayed. “Be with each and every heart today as we remember our brothers and sisters who have fallen on this day.”
     AMVETS Commander Dan Forry spoke to recognize honored veterans this year: Vern Poppen, Roger “Pete” Petersen, Carl Garbes, Tom Metz and Ken Shaffer.
