The Rehabilitation Center of Allison received the 2017 Iowa Governor’s Award for Quality Care on Thursday. The award was presented by Director Rod Roberts of the Department of Inspections and Appeals at a ceremony in Allison attended by staff, residents, local visitors, State Representative Linda Upmeyer and State Senator Amanda Ragan.
This is the second time the facility has received the award, as they were previously selected in 2009.
The Rehabilitation Center was nominated for the award by Greg Thorne of Plymouth, MN.
“A house is just a house,” Thorne said, “but a home is where you feel loved and cared for, and that’s just exactly what my mom felt being at the Allison Rehabilitation Center. It wasn’t just the facility, it was all the wonderful caring, loving people that made this such a special place.”
