Quilts presented to veterans

“Thank you for your service,” was heard many times in the Plainfield Public Library conference room the evening of Nov. 26 as the Plainfield Quilting ladies presented patriotic quilts to local veterans James Goss, Leland Busching and Joseph Harper.
     The group of eight ladies have created 47 quilts for veterans over the past five years, as they spread patriotic warmth and good cheer.
     “I would say it’s to honor the veterans because they served our country,” said quilter Sandy Freerks.
     Honored veterans gave a brief overview of their time in the service while receiving their quilts.
