Planting season: fingers are crossed

Harvest yields in the fall are based on planting in the spring.

Though producers prepare best they can to seed their fields, Mother Nature always has the final say.

Clarksville producer Paul Leerhoff, 69, controls genetics of seed, fertilizer and technology of automatic steering and mapping, but never in 42 years of farming can predict the weather.
