Wynette Mills is a local author who has published three children’s books. She was born and raised in the Plainfield area and now resides in Waverly. Her books are based on her grandchildren and the time they have spent together.
Wynette will be at The Plainfield Library on Dec. 4 from 5-7:30 p.m. with books available for signing.
Wynette has always enjoyed writing poetry and short stories. The former medical transcriptionist, upon retiring, spent time with her grandchildren, as many do. As interactive play with her grandson, who was approaching kindergarten at the time, they began writing jingles. The stories were later rediscovered. A friend urged her to publish. Wynette contacted her son Kevan Mills, an animator in the San Diego area, to illustrate her first story. It has become a team project.
