Pioneer Days spelling bee

The annual Pioneer Days spelling bee was held at the Clarksville library and attended by 34 participants and a room full of supporters.
     Dottie Winkey won the adult spelling bee, while Claire Lodge finished first in fifth and sixth grade, Elliott Schneiderman in third and fourth grade and Harlan Barnett in first and second grade.
     Lola Clark welcomed visitors and participants by ringing the school bell, and then talked a little about bees.
     “What creature is smarter than a talking parrot?” she asked.
