Lisa Gordon is excited to join the Clarksville Schools staff this year as Title I teacher.
“I’m really looking forward to working with the kids, getting to know them and helping them grow,” Gordon said. “I grew up in a small school district, so when I walked through the doors, it was like my own elementary.”
Gordon comes from working as an in-home daycare provider in Cedar Falls for four years. Prior to that, she was a director at the EduCare Learning Center in Cedar Rapids where she worked for 13 years. She also has classroom experience, having spent three years at St. Patrick’s in Cedar Falls teaching fifth to eighth grade language arts, math, Spanish and study skills. Gordon earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from UNI.
As a teacher, she hopes to lead the kids while also letting them continue to grow independently. She’s pretty easy to get along with as a teacher. She shows kids respect, and believes they will typically show respect in return.
