PARKERSBURG – Trailing only 13-7 at the half, Aplington-Parkersburg took advantage of turnovers and penalties in the second half to put this Class 1A District 3 game away against North Butler on Friday, Sept. 21.
The Falcons led 13-0 less than three minutes into the game on a 69-yard touchdown pass from Carter Cuvelier to Jack Haren, followed by a Cuvelier fumble return for a touchdown on the Bearcats third offensive play of the game which wasn’t a good sign to start.
However, North Butler quarterback Pacen Hendricks found space outside the tackles and sprinted to the end zone for a 60-yard touchdown run at the three-minute, 41-second mark of the first quarter where it remained until half.
The full story appears in the Sept. 27 print editions of both the Butler County Tribune-Journal and the Clarksville Star.
