Jessica Lovrien is spearheading a project to get outdoor lights for the city’s Volunteer Park baseball/softball diamond.

Lovrien showed up at City Hall Monday, and got the go-ahead from Council members to move forward with the project. The next steps include fundraising and applying for grants to pay for the estimated $80,000 undertaking.

Musco Lighting of Oskaloosa estimates costs of $50 to $55,000 for 50-foot infield candles and 30-foot outfield candles, as well as $8 to $10,000 for pole installation and $14 to $16,000 for electrical set up.
