October is National Dental Hygiene Month: A Visit to Allison Family Dental

It’s time to think about your teeth. October is National Dental Hygiene Month, and the American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA) is encouraging the public to follow the Daily 4 routine: brush twice a day, floss daily, rinse with mouthwash and chew sugar-free gum.
     Allison Family Dental continues a tradition of serving the dental needs of the Allison community that began around 1920 with Dr. Ralph McWhirter. The practice continued in 1960 with Dr. George North, and still provides quality care today with Dr. Travis Harbough, who began working with Dr. North in 2009 and purchased the practice three years later upon North’s retirement.
     Allison Family Dental’s dental hygienist Steph Arenholz’ advice is to do preventative care on your teeth for the sake of your overall health. Dental assistant Jodee Cooper agreed.
     “The condition of your teeth affects your overall health. If you get an infection taken care of, your whole body will feel better,” Cooper said.
