No. 6 Indians overcome early deficit to advance to state semi

FORT DODGE -- Before Clarksville's softball team had a chance to bat it was facing a rare deficit.

 

And No. 13 Belle Plaine intended to stick a dagger in the Indians' plans of reaching the Class 1A state semifinal.

 

But after trailing 5-0, Clarksville's bats got going in a big way to rally for a five-run third inning to tie the game and it was a whole new game after that.

 

"We always knew we score plenty of runs in previous games and there were very few times that we scored less than three so once we got on our bats," Clarksville freshman pitcher Kori Wedeking said, "our nerves settled down and we knew we could probably take the lead at one point...."
