New ordinance passed for utility rates

An ordinance amending the Allison Municipal Code was adopted Monday, increasing sewer rates with a $22.50 debt service charge and gallons per used [chart].

Taking effect Jan. 1, the boost in costs is due to the $3.85 million needed for maintenance and modifications to lagoons and sewer relining.”

"In order to apply for a Community Development Block Grant, we need to show the city is moving forward on the needed project by doing our part and raising sewer rates,” said Mayor Scot Henrichs.
