New demolition derby events come to Butler County Fair

A night of destruction is slated Wednesday, June 24 at the 2015 Butler County Fairgrounds in Allison — Car Soccer, Small Car Chain Races, and Figure 8 Trailer Races.
These will be the featured grandstand attraction beginning at 7 p.m. To participate, signup is required.
New for 2015 will be the Small Car Chain Races. In this 15-lap event, one small car will tow a second car and driver around the track using a chain to essentially tie the two vehicles together. The front car will have no brakes and the back car will only be able to use their brakes.
Mixed in with the chain races will be the ever-popular Car Soccer from the past several fairs. Watch as teams of two cars are pitted against an opposing team of two cars and drivers to move the steel ball weighing over 700 pounds through the goals.
Finishing up the evening will be the smash hit from last year, Trailer Races. There will again be a car division and a truck division. The objective will be the first person to complete 15 figure 8 laps or be the last one left with their trailer and axle still attached to their vehicle.
Their opponents will be trying at every turn to knock their trailer off the hitch or destroy their trailer. There is bound to be plenty of action in these final two races, a news release states.
Pre-registering is required to participate in all three events.
The car soccer event will be limited to the first six teams of two drivers and cars to pre-register for the event. The trailer race will be limited to the first eight entries in each division. The chain races will be limited to the first eight entries.
There is no entry fee for these events.
A pit pass will be required for all drivers and spectators in the pits.
