FORT DODGE – If given the chance, North Butler freshman pitcher Taylor Graven would have liked to start the Class 2A state quarterfinal all over again.

Three errors in the first inning led to three unearned runs in a 3-0 loss to Earlham on Tuesday, July 22 at Fort Dodge.

"I think we all had nerves going around," Graven said. "I mean, we have never had three errors in the first inning in our whole season, so I think we were all nervous and it was still new and big to us. I think if we re-did it we'd be just fine."

More on this story is in the July 24 print edition of the Butler County Tribune.
