NBHS To Celebrate Homecoming 2017

The North Butler High School Student Council has been busy planning this year’s Homecoming festivities. This year’s Homecoming theme is “We’re All in this Together.” Dress up days include: Hawaiian Day, Colors for Cancer Day, Stages of Life Day, Group Day, and We’re All in this Together Day (Spirit Day). The annual parade, community pep rally, and coronation will be held on Thursday, October 5th.  
            The Homecoming Parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. The route has changed this year. All entries will line up on Traer near the school parking lot. The route will begin at the corner of 5thStreet and Traer Street and travel two blocks to 3rdStreet, over 2 blocks to Ely Street and turn on to 5thStreet, ending at the corner of 5thStreet and Dow Street. Parade vehicles are asked to continue down 5thStreet to the school parking lot following the parade.
            The annual community pep rally will be held in the high school’s old gym beginning at 7:00 p.m. Spectators are asked to use the North 4th Street entrance into the old gym. This year’s pep rally is one you won’t want to miss! Patrons will enjoy performances by the Varsity cheerleaders, high school band, and a few other special groups. The crowning of the 2017 North Butler Homecoming King and Queen will take place at that time as well. This year’s Homecoming court consists of: queen candidates Morgan Arjes, Darby Christensen, Nicole Heeren, Marcy Jacobs, and Abbie Wix, and king candidates Dylan Clipperton, Sam Dolan, Zain Nelson, Brandon Trees, and Isaac Trees.
            Friday, October 6th, the junior/senior high students will enjoy a tailgating lunch and class activities before loading busses and heading to Allison for the first annual K-12 Bearcat Pep Rally. The Bearcats will face the West Fork Warhawks at 7:00 at the Dave Sturm Memorial field in Greene.
