North Butler School Board candidate Jon Heuer has requested a recount. Heuer of Allison, an incumbent with 12-13 years on the board, ran at-large against Bobbi Jo Spainhower of Greene in the Sept. 8 school election.
The initial count showed Spainhower received 50.92 percent of the votes at 609 while Heuer of Allison received 49 percent exactly, at 586 votes (23 votes fewer). There were six undervotes (no candidate selected) and one write-in.
[A Recount Board, consisting of one person appointed by the winning candidate, one by the losing candidate and one on whom both agreed, will meet at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28 in the Courthouse Boardroom to perform the recount. It is open to the public to observe.]*
