NB-C senior finishes seventh at state

DES MOINES – Winning the final match of his high school career, Brandon Trees of North Butler-Clarksville came up just one shy of the landmark 150 he was aiming for when the Class 1 A state meet started.
The senior 170-pounder placed seventh with a 3-2 decision, getting the initial takedown of Gunnar Grunsted of Panorama that proved to be the difference on Saturday, Feb. 17.
 “He’s on the stand,” North Butler coach Gordy Smith said. “He was probably a takedown away from being in the finals, in our opinion. He deserved to win..."
