Allison has a new occasional store in town, as This N That Vintage Store, offering mid-century and retro finds, opened on Main Street on June 1. Jeff and Cindy Kolb of Clarksville opened the shop to share their love of good memories from the 1950s-1970s with others.
Stepping into the shop will bring all the nostalgia of a trip down memory lane. You’ll see the kitchenware and glassware you received as wedding presents, the vinyl records you danced to, the toys your kids played with, your mom’s Tupperware, and your grandparent's household décor. And you might even spot some mid-century literature.
“It’s fun to look through old catalogs and how-to books. It’s just cool. People enjoy that,” Jeff Kolb said.
The shop brings back memories of when times were simpler.
“They can re-live child-hood,” Cindy Kolb said.
The items pre-date the throw-away society and come from a time where everything was made to last. And sometimes, that’s good for more than memories.
