Marvin Bohlen, Neil Bolin and Matthias ["Pete"]* Jensen of Clarksville attended an honor flight from Waterloo last month.
It was the second honor flight of the year for Sullivan-Hartogh-Davis Post 730 in Cedar Falls. The first was two months ago. A third honor flight this year is planned Sept. 22.
The post is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sending local World War II and Korean War veterans to Washington D.C. to visit various historical sites and war memorials. The organization serves the nearby counties of Black Hawk, Bremer and Grundy, also serving Buchanan and North Tama, according to its website.
The organization has also taken veterans from outside the five-county region, said Frank Magsamen, a contact for the SHD Post, and a Black Hawk County Supervisor.
