North Butler Elementary hosted a kick off assembly for the Landry’s Ronald McDonald House Toy Drive on Dec. 4, once again partnering with Landry Hull and his family to bring joy to kids and their families at the Ronald McDonald House during the holiday season.
Landry Hull, a North Butler kindergartener, was born three months premature with congenital heart disease. He and his family spent seven months at the Ronald McDonald house when he was a baby, and returned this year as Hull successfully underwent his third open heart surgery.
The Ronald McDonald House provides an affordable place for families to stay while their children are in the hospital. Last year, Landry’s Toy Drive donated 438 toys for kids at the Ronald McDonald House. This year, donations are again being gathered at local businesses and at the school.
“You know what is amazing? Walking into NBE and seeing the kids look at the display case they are filling up. It is so much fun to hear all their conversations as they are looking at it. I love seeing the excitement in their eyes,” Landry’s mother, Wendy Schmitt, posted on social media.
