ALLISON – North Butler’s softball team may have changed its approach against Clarksville, but the end result from the second meeting between the two in less than a week was the same.
The Indians, who shot up seven spots from 14th to seventh in the Class 1A poll after their 3-0 win on Tuesday, June 13, used a two-run third inning to defeat their Butler County rival 2-0 in the title game of North Butler’s own tournament on Saturday, June 17.
It wasn’t without controversy, however, with North Butler coach Jeff Stirling pointing out some umpiring misjudgments, including illegal pitches and a blocking of home plate that prevented a Bearcat run from scoring in the seventh.
