MARENGO – In a weather-shortened contest, Clarksville opened the season with a Week 0 road loss to Iowa Valley, Marengo on Friday, Aug. 19.
The Indians fell to the Tigers 40-8 in a game that was halted by lightning late in the second quarter and never resumed, calling it a final after waiting a few hours for the weather to clear, which it did not.
Coach Chris Arians’ team fell victim to three turnovers, one of which was a 65-yard interception return for a score by Bennett Goettsch, who also scored three times offensively.
