Hummel takes football contest

Allison’s Patty Hummel had a procedure behind her picks for the Clarksville Star/Butler County Tribune-Journal Football.

Besides using her librarian skills to sponge information from resources, Hummel observed for intellect. The coaches and players that spoke coherently would get the benefit of the doubt.

“I looked for the calm and patient coaches,” she said, “and also the colors of jerseys.”

Hummel’s methodology ended up winning her the $500 grand prize in the annual contest, as she filled in correctly in 12 of 18 bowl games. Receiving $500 football bucks,
