Welding isn’t just a job; it’s a passion for 22-year-old Jeff Kramer of Shell Rock. This past summer, he purchased a shop in Waverly to pursue that passion full time.
In his shop, Kramer does repair work, custom fabrication and laser cutting. He also designs signs and works in the family businesses with parents Mike and Jackie Kramer, who have been working with iron crafts for over twenty years, creating a variety of items including lawn and home décor and gifts.
“I get to spend all day with my family,” said Kramer. “I couldn’t ask for anything more. I’m making memories every day with my dad.”
Kramer’s dad, Mike, taught him to weld when he was only 10 or 11 years old. He then attended welding classes in high school, and became a certified welder after taking classes in structural welding at Hawkeye Community College.
