“I love photography. It’s always a challenge. There’s always something new,” said Amber Thompson. “It’s never the same. I love to put my artistic ability into something that makes someone else happy.”
Using her artistic abilities to provide beautiful family portraits is exactly what Amber Thompson of Plainfield has been doing since 2012.
Thompson shoots everything from weddings to senior photos. She offers photo sessions for babies, families, children, businesses and events.
Her passion for photography began at the age of 14—or maybe even before. She was always the person with the point and shoot camera, taking thousands of photos of her friends. As a teenager with her first DSLR camera, she found herself taking more and more family photos for friends. She started her own photography business in 2012 at the age of 16 and later took classes at Hawkeye Community College to refine her skills and offer even higher quality images to her clients.
