ALLISON — The Highway 3 Raceway Board voted to dissolve the organization and distribute the remaining cash to the community, over roughly the last quarter.
The organization presented $2,000 each to five local organizations, following a vote to do so on March 9.
Beneficiaries of the $10,000 sum were the Allison Fire Department, Allison Ambulance, Allison AMVETS, Shell Rock Fire Department and Retrieving Freedom Inc., with an office in Waverly. The nonprofit Retrieving Freedom trains service dogs for veterans, children with autism and adults and children with diabetes.
