Jon Heuer was appointed to the Allison council on Wednesday evening to fill the year-long term in the seat left open by the resignation of councilman David Smith.
Heuer is self-employed in the residential construction industry, working alongside his brother with Heuer Construction. A graduate of Allison-Bristow, he grew up on a farm outside of Allison, and has lived in town for the past 32 years. For the past three years, he has served as president of Pheasants Forever. He is also a member of the Wilder Park Board.
As a councilman, his goal is to work on Allison’s priorities first.
“Streets are a big issue for the majority if not all the residents of Allison,” Heuer said. “It’s one of the things I want to make sure we make progress on at as fast a pace as possible, with trying to get the worst roads fixed first.”
