Greene appears to growing. A new emergency services building is under construction. A Dollar General is also in the process of being built, with a plan for a Casey’s convenience store in the works.

EMS Building
Work on the new EMS building, situated near city hall, began in May. The building has an anticipated completion date of October.
“The old building was too small, and the trucks are getting bigger,” said Fire Chief Neil Nordmeyer. “We went to the city council and rural trustees quite a few years ago to tell them we’d have to do something soon, and set money back.      Greene resident Jim Nettleton donated $100,000 to the city for a new EMS building.
